Group exercise, tennis, football and basketball brought our community together to mark the start of Recovery Month.
Recovery Month got off to a brilliant start yesterday with our very first event of the month, and it was a morning to remember. We headed out to the park for a session that combined exercise, friendly competition and, most importantly, time spent together as a community.

Starting With a Group Warm-Up
The morning began with a group warm-up, giving everyone the chance to get moving, shake off any nerves and get to know one another before the main activities got under way. It set a relaxed, encouraging tone for the rest of the session, with staff and clients taking part side by side.
Tennis, Football and Basketball
Once warmed up, the group split off into games of tennis, football and basketball. Some played to win, others were simply happy to be out in the fresh air trying something new, but there was energy and laughter on every court.

Talking Through Wellness Tips
Alongside all the activity, we also took time to sit down together and talk through some simple wellness tips. These informal conversations gave people a chance to reflect, share experiences and pick up practical ideas to take into the rest of their week, all in a setting that felt far more relaxed than a typical support session.
More Than Just a Conversation
Days like this are a great reminder that recovery isn’t only about conversation. It’s about moving, connecting and having fun as a community too. Combining physical activity with open discussion helped create a space where people could support one another naturally, without the session ever feeling formal or clinical.

Here’s to More Sessions Like This
This was just the first of many events planned throughout Recovery Month, and if yesterday’s turnout and energy are anything to go by, there’s a lot to look forward to. A huge thank you to everyone who came along, took part, and made the morning such a success.
