Our Team
Our care homes are led by our Registered Manager Mandy and her Deputy, Gemma. Mandy has led Elmwood Lodge over the last 20 years, gaining and sharing her care expertise with business and people management skills.
All our care team members are qualified or working towards a minimum of NVQ level 2 standard and many are pursuing higher qualifications.
Standards are constantly monitored through audits and we analyse data to improve the service and manage risks.
We have a dedicated housekeeping team whose contribution to the smooth running of the homes is invaluable.
We place great value on the continuity of care provided by our team, who are recruited on a permanent basis.
Activities
Activities are created and developed in consultation with our residents. We have a Client Development Department and many volunteers and students who are a vital resource to complement our care team.
We offer a variety of leisure activities for our residents: board games, bingo, table and floor games.
Art and craft sessions are a regular feature of life in the home and residents are also able to enjoy gardening, cooking and group discussions.
We are proud of our varied entertainment programme, which includes parties, singalongs, film shows and other performances.
We arrange regular outings for those who wish to participate, including walks in the local parks, gardening, summer trips and parties.
Assistance is available to help residents use the wide variety of community facilities available locally, such as clubs, cinemas, theatres and even discos.
We understand that residents have cultural and religious needs. Our team works to meet their needs, for example making arrangements for residents to attend places of worship.
We hold monthly resident meetings where we make sure that all residents’ views are listened to and welcomed. We use feedback to improve our service.
