Residents at our Verdant Lane scheme showcased their remarkable artistic talents at an art exhibition hosted by Kitchenette Studio Space on 10 June 2026 – a celebration of creativity, courage and community.
A Space to Create, a Chance to Shine
At Quo Vadis Trust, we believe that recovery is about more than a safe place to live. It is about rediscovering who you are, finding your voice, and building confidence in your own abilities. The art exhibition at our Verdant Lane scheme did exactly that – giving residents the opportunity to share their creative work with the world and celebrate what they have achieved.
On 10 June 2026, Kitchenette Studio Space came alive with colour, imagination and pride. Across two walls, more than 40 framed works were displayed – from vibrant portraits and bold abstracts to delicate botanical studies and vivid street scenes. Each piece told its own story, reflecting the unique perspective and personal journey of the artist behind it.
Art as Part of Recovery
Creative activities play a meaningful role in supporting mental health and wellbeing. Engaging in art can help people process difficult emotions, build structure and routine, develop new skills, and connect with others. For many of the residents who took part in this exhibition, creating and sharing their artwork represented a significant personal milestone.
The range and quality of work on display was a testament to the talent within our community. Bold, multi-coloured abstract compositions sat alongside intricate line drawings and carefully observed still lifes. There were paintings inspired by identity and belonging, works that spoke to personal experience, and pieces that simply celebrated joy and beauty. Together, they created a powerful and moving exhibition.
