Wellness Housing Officers are on-site for three hours between 2:30pm – 6:00pm, Monday to Friday (exc. Bank Holidays). They offer enhanced housing management services, e.g. tenancy sustainment, benefits advice, budgeting assistance and management of tenancy-related bills. Staff also signpost clients to other relevant agencies that do not relate to housing management and assist them with carrying out the tasks associated with living in a communal home environment and in maintaining holistic wellbeing.
All clients throughout QVT have telephone access to our 24-hour scheme at Verdant Lane (SE6), where there are staff on duty who can assist with any queries or concerns that may arise day or night and offer verbal support or, if necessary, arrange for face to face contact. There is also an out-of-hours on call manager to assist and support staff and clients in times of urgency.
Adelaide Lodge offers supportive ‘family style’ accommodation with an emphasis on ‘normal living’. Each member of the household has their own comfortable room and shares the communal areas including the lounge, two well-equipped kitchens, three toilets, a bathroom and a shower room. There are mature gardens at the front and rear of the property which are lovingly tended by the clients who currently live there.
Bedrooms are equipped with a single bed, bedside table, wardrobe, chest of drawers and fridge. There is a comfortable lounge on the ground floor which is furnished with sofas and chairs and has an area for sitting and dining by the window overlooking the rear garden. Television facilities and a computer with full internet access are available for client use, and a payphone is situated in the hallway on the ground floor.
Laundry facilities consist of a washing machine for shared use in the kitchen and a tumble dryer housed in the rear garden shed.
