We are delighted to hear that Quo Vadis Trust has been selected as a finalist for the UK Housing Awards 2018 in the category of Outstanding approach to equality and diversity.

The UK Housing Awards are billed as the biggest and best awards in the housing sector and being shortlisted gives us an excellent opportunity to showcase the great work we are doing in the sector.

The next stage of the process involves us making a short pitch to the judges, followed by an interview. This will take place in March, with the winners being announced at the awards ceremony taking place in London on 2 May 2018.

QVT’s strategic aim is “Supporting Recovery, Maximising Independence, Building Community”. We want to be the catalyst for moving our clients through to independent living in the community. Delivering such community sustainment requires QVT to be a service user led organisation, and effective involvement of our clients is extremely important to us. In addition, as a housing association, we are committed to ensuring that our clients live in high-quality homes designed to help them to live as normal a life as possible.

Our clients originate from every walk of life - ethnically, culturally, in age, gender and personal circumstances. Our services ensure that those who are isolated and ostracised from their community have a chance to be reintegrated and to feel a sense of pride in that belonging. We are passionate about restoring our clients’ integrity, working hard to ensure that their needs are met, their boundaries extended, their standards raised, their family strengthened, and their community deepened, while also facilitating them to feel well protected.

Sadly, our clients and the accompanying staff often face discrimination from the public and some providers of services in the communities in which we run our services. We hope that being selected as a finalist in the Awards will help us in our ongoing work to highlight awareness and continue to integrate with other small and large providers in our local communities.

Good luck to all the other finalists! #UKHA2018
